Local Bellaire small-business owner Ashley Nadon is preparing to open her second indie-and-eco-friendly beauty shop location in the M-K-T Heights development this September.

"We fell in love with the M-K-T location, and it just made sense to think about growing our community. Bellaire is larger, more of a quiet destination building. Heights is a smaller footprint [and] opens to an amazing courtyard of people grabbing coffee, shopping or walking their dog," Nadon said on her business's social media page.

What's special about it

Nadon opened the original Bellaire brick-and-mortar shop in October 2022 that combined her 15-plus years working on the corporate side of a luxury beauty brand. After celebrating the store's one-year anniversary, she told Community Impact she enjoys supporting independent brands that listen to customers and create products that are different from the mass market and the luxury market.

"It's values for their skin, like clean-beauty or organic or ingredient-driven, or values in social lives, like giving back to causes that they care about or creating sustainable packaging," Nadon said.
